I figured it might be nice to create a post featuring my recreations I’ve created so far (as well as four new ones, a low-status member of a Briton Gosgordd, and a High-Status warrior of the Teulu, a low-status Pictish warrior, and Hengist), split by culture and then rough chronological order. More to come soon in this series.

Britons

Coel Hen, founder of the Coeling dynasty, floruit 410-440, in high-status Roman gear of the era. Coel has often been speculated as the last Dux Britanniarum, though there is not evidence of this other than the fact that the area he ruled was controlled by that position under Rome. Peredur ab Eliffer, grandson of Arthwys, initial inspiration for the Peredur of the Welsh romances and later Percival, floruit 560-580, in a mix of native and germanic influenced gear. Peredur would eventually with his brothers join a coalition of Britons attacking their cousin Urien at Catraeth. You can read more about him here:

A low-status warrior of a warlord’s gosgordd. Appropriate for most of the covered kings floruits. He carries a simple axe and a limewashed shield. His only protection beside the shield is a simple iron skullcap.

A member of a Warlords Teulu. Teulu, a word meaning family, in a martial context denotes a Lords household troops, high-status warriors, often mounted on horses, making up the core of a warlords military.
