In the Tweed Valley. Naturally with the nature of the 'Arthurian Battle List' from Nennius the sites can be shoehorned in to just about anywhere you want them to be. There is a decent case to be made for Tribruit being there though, as pointed out in one of the guest articles here written by my friend @p5ych0p0mp. It also makes sense in the context of the battle of Agned (likely Din Eidyn) being linked to the battle of Tribruit, not just in Nennius, but also in Pa Gur, possible lending some context that they were in close proximity.
Just a particular long spear (usually with cavalry emphasis) the Contus was a Roman adoption of the Sarmatian cavalry lance (used by many different cultures of the east). For my purposes, it's an easy way to distinguish between the spears used by infantry (5-7 feet long), and the longer Cavalry spear.
Thank you for breathing life back in to this moment in time.
I’m curious where you locate this valley?

So I have an ignorant question. Is lance equivalent to spear? I thought the lance was a later invention. (And yes I’m going to google it.)

Thanks! I saw it had a 3rd century Roman use … but that even longer lances were introduced much later, and jousting lances were different again!
Of course! You're spot on there.
Thanks! Wikipedia. 😎
