Are you certain that Aethelfrith was son of Hussa ? . . From 'English' texts it seems to be suggested that Aethelric, king of Bernicia c.586 and son of Ida - usurped the throne of Deira in 588 after the death of Aelle, and reigned 5-years - being succeeded by his son Aethelfrith in 593. . .
